Power!

I put Audrey to bed at around 9:30 last night... In the dark, as per usual since Sunday night. All of a sudden, I heard a collective (and loud) "YAAAAAY!!!" come from up the street...

...the Duke energy truck was here to fix our electricity!!!

It was amazing to see the crowd it drew. It was kind of like the pied piper. And when the lights came back on at 9:59pm, you could hear the collective sigh of relief.

One thing about this blackout... It may have been a huge inconvenience, but it really brought out the best in all of our neighbors. People were out talking, playing, sharing... And it was kinda nice.

I'm still glad the power is back on, though. Only so much kumbaya I can take. ;)
